IF A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS, JUST IMAGINE THE STORIES I CAN TELL WITH A CAMERA...

THE SUNFLOWER & SAGE PHILOSOPHY

Between all of that, how do you find the perfect photog for you?

Capturing + editing styles, personality differences, budgets...

Let's face it, you and I both know that photographers are a dime a dozen these days.

That's why it's important for you as the client to do your research and be sure that the photographer you consider working with is able to fulfill all of your wants and needs
- before you officially book with them.

Realistically, a photographer needs to be able to produce more than just pretty photos. Photography requires technical skills, people skills, having the right equipment + the proper knowledge to use it.

Aireal will beautifully illustrate your love for years to come

From weddings + elopements to casual photos + holiday cards

As the creative behind the lens, I recognize that every relationship is unique. Over the last 3 years, I have dedicated myself to creating a fun + memorable photography experience for every couple that steps in front of my camera, while also capturing images that feature authentic emotion to help illustrate how remarkable their love truly is.

From Hobby To Passion

“Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” - Mark Twain

While I can't say that I completely agree with Mr. Twain (because there truly is a lot of work that goes into being a good photographer), I do love being a creative + getting to express myself through this form of art.

While we're together, I will always embrace sharing a laugh, a cry, and the celebration with you - because I know that these moments go so much deeper than being a photo.

And at the end of every session, whether it's a quick 30 minutes or a long 8 hour day, being a photographer truly doesn't feel like a job, but an outlet that allows me to create art that can (and will be) enjoyed for literal decades to come.

Aireal's Photography Experience + Knowledge

My skillset as a photographer helps me cultivate the best experience and images possible while we work together - and goes way beyond what you see during our time together.

Here's a look into just a small bit of what goes into every session I take on.

As you can see, it takes a lot more than just clicking a few buttons to achieve the photos you'll receive. I intentionally underexpose my images while shooting to later achieve a dark + moodier, colorful, more dramatic look with my final images.

Creating A Photography Experience Unique To You

From the moment you reach out to the time your gallery gets delivered, there is a lot of planning + preparation that goes into making sure every session is a success.

One of the most important things I feel I can do as a creative is to learn your story as a couple and build from there.

I always send out a questionnaire for clients to fill out that will help me better understand what your expectations are, as well as help me get to know you a little better as a couple.

Some of the questions are basic stuff like what your names are and how long you've been together. But others are more in-depth, asking about your love languages, how you fell in love, and how you want to feel when you look at the images in 20+ years.

I also ask things like whether you're comfortable getting wet/dirty, comfortable lifting/being lifted by your partner and if you have any disabilities that may affect how the session goes.

Fun & Colorful WV Couples Session

Johnathan + Desiree's playful colorful session

This couple is comprised of two of the goofiest people that I know. So of course, I wanted to offer a session that's just as fun and silly as they are, because honestly, seriousness just isn't their thing as a couple.

And truthfully, when I offered the idea of a colorful holi powder session, I knew that they wouldn't be able to resist the chance to throw powder at each other's faces.

This unique location is commonly referred to as "Graffiti Hall" by the locals + made for THE PERFECT backdrop for such a fun + colorful session!

Sweet Romantic Styled Picnic WV Couple

Mo + Jonathan's romantic picnic session

Because of their laidback natures, I wanted this couples session to have a soulful + romantic kind of vibe... and I mean, what's more romantic than a private picnic for two?

With the setup provided completely by me, from the blanket + basket to the flowers + desserts, all these two had to do was show up and be cute with each other while I worked my magic.

In the end, we got some truly beautiful shots that they will be able to enjoy for decades to come!

LGBTQ+ WV Couple enjoy sunrise at Dolly Sods Wilderness

Shelby + Danyell's gorgeous sunrise session

Being one of my more adventurous couples, it only made sense that these ladies would want to celebrate their engagement by watching the sunrise from the Bear Rocks Overlook.

After all, dolly sods wilderness holds some of the most beautiful (and iconic) views that west virginia has to offer.

Even after getting up at 3 a.m., battling the crowded parking lot, freezing our butts off waiting for the sun to rise, anddriving over 5 hours roundtrip, I have to say that it was totally worth it. I mean just look at that gorgeous shot!

Inclusive, Tolerant, + Non-Judgemental

I have zero tolerance for discrimination against anyone. All ethnicities, religions, cultures, genders, and sexualities are welcome to step in front of my lens. I try to be tolerant of all viewpoints, beliefs, and lifestyles, as long as they don't cause harm to anyone - even if they don't align with my own.

Plus, as someone that's a B in LGBTQ+, I love getting to work with fellow members of my community.

Transparent Pricing + High-Quality Products

I make it super easy for couples to know exactly what they are getting and can expect when they book a session with me. I offer 9 straightforward investment packages total - 3 for lifestyle sessions, 3 for elopements + intimate weddings, and 3 more for larger weddings.

I've designed these packages so that couples who book with me can get the biggest bang for their buck + receive beautiful, high-quality print products to adorn their home at a fraction of the normal cost.

There are a variety of professional quality print products available to you after your engagement session + wedding day photos are delivered!

I’m a big advocate of having prints made, and photos put into albums. Events should be on display for all to see, not in a file on a computer’s hard drive! Unless included in the package you select, all of the prints, canvases, albums, and additional products are a-la-carte. Pricing for these products is displayed on the same page as the packages you choose - allowing complete transparency during your budgeting process.

I also offer my couples biweekly + monthly payment plans, should they choose.

Capturing + Editing Styles

When you're trying to choose the right photographer, one of the first + most important things that you’ll have to pay attention is their style of editing. Each photographer tends to develop their own unique way of shooting + processing their images, so it's super important to find a photographer who edits in a style that is visually appealing to you and your S.O.

This means really taking a look at how they edit their photos - take the time to view actual galleries that they've delivered if you're able to access them - and don't be afraid to ask for access if it isn't readily available. While you review portfolios, take note of what your eye is drawn to, whether it's more natural colors, dark and moody tones, or a light and airy effect.

I like to edit a bit moodier and with warmer tones, but still pretty true to color.

Another huge aspect of a photographer’s style is the way that they capture people during their sessions! Some people like a classic approach, with people looking directly at the camera.

Me? I tend to go a more candid approach, encouraging couples to forget that I even exist for a few moments at a time to capture photos that invoke raw feelings of love + passion.

Setting + Achieving Goals

Growing up and watching America's next top model, It has literally always been a huge dream of mine to be published in a magazine + it's completely beside the point that younger me definitely imagined myself as the model...

But over the last 3 years, I've learned my craft through hands-on experience, second shooting opportunities, styled shoots, and tons of youtube videos - I can't help but feel impressed with how far I've managed to come so far as a photographer in such a short time.

I've recently had images selected to be published in IndieTreasure's 2022 Stunning West Virginia + Gorgeous West Virginia calendars!

I've also been published over 25 times in various magazines, including

Let's Wrap This Up

When hiring a photographer, you need to look deeper than just their Instagram account (which is where they post their most perfect content).

You have to look at their capturing + editing styles, take their personality into account, and ensure that they are within your budget (or are at least willing to accept payment plans!).

Hopefully, you feel as though you've been able to get to know more about me as both a human + a photographer through this post.
